In the beginning
In the beginning God saw everything when love went wandering into the night.
Was I first or last?
Was I second best?
These questions quickly pass into the light.
At the waters edge I see As your spirit speaks to me: Call to me and I will answer you, I’ll give you peace, a peace you have not known on your own.
When my vision died you opened my eyes to something that I had never seen. I have touched your hands and you have called me friend, but doubting never ends until I believe.
At the waters edge I see As your spirit speaks to me: Call to me and I will answer you, I’ll give you peace, a peace you have not known on your own.
Justice Waiting
How many lies must we hear?
How many lives will be stolen?
How long will we let this fear paralyze the church?
How long will these renters rule the earth?
How many mothers must cry?
How many children must die?
How long will we just stand by and watch a careless world teach our boys and girls their tyranny?
God of land and sea and the universe come deliver me. And every slave that lives upon the earth!
There is a new day coming and it won’t be long.
There is a fire burning and a wind that’s strong.
There is justice waiting for the child of God.
And it’ll all go down.
It’ll all go down.
It’ll all go down somehow.

The World is Wide Open
"The World is Wide Open/Poverty" is a spontaneous song which was captured on Saturday, May 12, 2007 in Riverton, Wyoming at the Riverton Middle School. I'll never forget that trip. The first night of worship - Friday night - James and I did not have all of our equipment because the airline did not put it on the tiny plane that we had fly into Wyoming on.
On Saturday, the folks at the church asked the team to go on a hike. Jason, Sean and I went for the hike. James wasn't feeling well, so he stayed at the hotel to rest and Bryan stayed back to work. So, Jason, Sean and myself hiked this incredible mountain that took us approximately 7,000 feet above sea level. The air was thin but pure. The sky seemed closer than ever before. And, in the middle of May, we saw a waterfall with snow and ice hanging off it...while wearing shorts! It was amazing. It was "big sky" country for sure. On Saturday night, we had all of our equipment and were rested and that entire night was an extremely potent night of worship, intercession and much more. We were recently in Casper, WY and saw some of the folks from Riverton that hoste us. I feel like we're an extended part of their community ever since that night.

How to Know if You Are Born of the Spirit
"How to Know if You Are Born of the Spirit" is a spontaneous song which was captured on Sunday, November 4, 2007 during the normal Sunday morning service at Streams Church in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. Jason and Micah happened upon a new melody that developed after we had finished worshipping together on Jason's song "Dear John".
That weekend in Red Deer was extremely special. We got to hang out a bunch with their church community - drinking coffee from the "Second Cup" (a local coffee shop) and being shown around the city of Red Deer. This included a tour of the Red Deer Fire Department. Streams Church is a very special church with a lot of great people who love each other and love God.

One Step Away
I was told when I was young that one day soon I’m going to see You.
We’ll take a train far from this place where all our pain will be over.
My God how I long to see You now.
And something in my heart tells me somehow You’re one step away.
A distant sound is hard to hear even a sound as loud as thunder.
A distant heart is full of fear a distant soul has lost its’ wonder.
Sometimes it’s hard to hear Your voice, my God.
Is the reason that You’re whispering because
You’re one step away?
I was told when I was young that one day soon I’m going to see You.
We’ll take a train far from this place where all our pain will be over.
My God how I long to see You now.

No Mistaking Love
This song was captured during an evening concert at Kristkirken in Bergen, Norway on Sunday, March 9, 2008. We arrived into Norway the Saturday beforehand so that we could setup and be ready to minister on Sunday morning for their regular Sunday morning service.
From the first note we played on Sunday morning, I had this overwhelming sense of gratitude to be in Europe and in Norway with the group of Christ followers at Kristkirken. The hunger for God that the people of Kristkirken had that morning drew something fresh out of Jason and all of the KOD team. It seemed as though we could play less and it meant more simply because of the worship these folks had already cultivated in their community prior to us being there.
The Sunday evening concert was just an extension (and then some) of the morning worship service. That entire night could probably be it's own CD. Much like other places where we have captured special moments on recording, I was changed by the people, the community and the experience I had while in Norway (and Denmark - we traveled to both places on that particular trip). To quote Henri Nouwen: "Christian community is a community of people who remind each other who they truly are - the beloved of God."

When the Time Comes
You are wisdom but you ask questions
Thank you God for never telling me a lie
Your decisions are mostly hidden
The stage you stand upon is not for human eyes
You tell me not to worry about tomorrow But I worry anyway
You tell me you’ll take care of all my troubles
Jesus, teach me how to wait
You are future but you are present
Thank you God for never running from your past
You’re committed to your creation
For everything you’ve made your love forever lasts
You tell me not to worry about tomorrow but I worry anyway
You tell me you’ll take care of all my troubles
Jesus, teach me how to wait
When the time comes, I will see forever
When the time comes, It’ll be all right
When the time comes, I will be the one asking why
You are wisdom but you ask questions
Thank you God for never telling me a lie
Your decisions are mostly hidden
The stage you stand upon is not for human eyes

Where the Wild Things Are
Yes Yes Yes Yes
Kids they say the darnedest things They can make you laugh
They can make you scream They make me want to be a better man.

Johnny, he done lost his toy He gave it to another boy
And I asked him, “Johnny why did you do that?”
He said, “That kid he asked me if he could use it?” I said, “Yeah, you can. If you don’t lose it!”
So, he took my toy and I never saw it again.
Well I hope that you have lots of luck ‘Cause that was my favorite toy That was my toy truck
I should have told you “no”, but I told you “yes”.
Yes…
Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes
Well I’ve never been the givin’ kind But the more I watch this child of mine
The more that I begin to understand. That it’s easier to just say “no”
But it ain’t no fun to play alone And the more I say “I can’t”, the less I can.
Johnny he turned seventeen And he found the truck of every young man’s dream
I should have told him “no” but I told him “yes”.
Yes…

It Ain't Easy
I am learning to be a father but I really don’t know how
To be willing to care for others more than I love myself
It ain’t easy learning to love like you
I am learning to love my neighbor and to live by the golden rule
But it’s so hard when I’ve been lied to
I feel like a fool forgiving a fool
It ain’t easy learning to love like you
I am learning to be faithful with the little that I have
To do like Jesus and turn the tables
To give it all to get nothing back
It ain’t easy leaning to love like you

To be willing to care for others more than I love myself
It ain’t easy learning to love like you

Thank you to you and your "band" for your hearts toward our Lord, and allowing Him to use you as he does. Your songs/music touch me to the depths of my soul. As only He can do. God's Blessings to you.
I recently began listening to your new music. I found out today that my sisters fiance was killed in an accident. Your music has touched my heart. My sister is struggling and mad at God right now. I don't know what to say.... my heart aches for her. Your songs they speak for me.
You have done it again. Or should I say the holy spirit has done it again through you? Every one of your cds speaks to me in whatever season I am in my walk with the Lord. Thank you so much for your obedience. Thank you so much for becoming less.
To God be the Glory

It's been a long time since i've seen you! I saw you at Teen Mania Ministries last year, and that was the first time i'd ever really heard and listened to the music that the Lord has given you.
Although i've never met you in person, I really admire you a lot. I'm friends with Carol and Gene Beard (who you already know). I'm from England, and now i'm back in Nottingham I hope to be there in Derby on tuesday.
May the Lord continue to bless you!

Please come to South Africa.
Man im blessed by your music..
Hope you will come to New Zealand one day
I can say with certainty that I will never be the same.
On 1200 Ft. I think "Justice waiting" & "The world is wide open" are outstanding examples for a highly inspired worship in spirit & truth, combined with intercession.
Very much greetings from Germany - come to us soon! Be blessed well!!
Jason & Band : Stay humble so the Holy Spirit can inspire you and send us more of this blessing music.
I pray for you and I`m looking forward to meet you in Schiphol, NL.
Peace in Christ
We are really looking forward to see you in Zwolle in Holland! We are longing for true worship. Not a concert but that we will really seek the Fathers heart. I totally agree with you there is unfortunately too much religion in the church. We need to repent of that. Because it keeps us away from the things Father wants to give us. And that is to know His heart We pray that the Holy spirit will lead you and give you the wisdom you need! God bless you!
Lots of love from Holland
i have an inquiry. I am a student at International Bible College in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan Canada. I am the drama leader at our small college, and we do dramas and other ministries every now and again at the churches affiliated with our colleges denomination. We simply go to the churches that have helped keep our school running. We are truly a small college. This semester we only have 11 students, it is truly by the love of the churches and God working through them that we stay open.
So, i have written all of this hoping you will read these comments and will consider a request. i was listening to The World Is Wide open and was listening to the beginning which was on your "faith" CD and always loved and typed the words down and wrote some more to it keeping in mind it being a monologue. So i was wondering if you would allow me the permission to use the first part of World Wide open for a monologue to minister to the churches in Western Church of God. ummmm.... my email address is: sweetgurl_2009@hotmail.com and i can let you know more if you are interested at all, if not, i understand. So please contact me when you can and then i can send you the copy of the monologue with the words if you want to read through it. God bless and hope to hear from you.

thank you for your heart that is free enough and brave enough to take us into God. i've been on a road w/the Spirit for 30 yrs and in 2004 your song "freedom" helped me to stand when all around seemed crushing and oppressive. my husband and i chose "i will wait" as our theme song on sabbatical that year and the unpredictable Jesus sent us overseas. HE IS WORTH IT ALL!! Thank you. Keep going with joy.
